About

Saiq’a Chowdhury is a visual designer, trained in design & tech at Parsons School of Design at The New School in New York. She enjoys creating worlds – sometimes quirky and colourful, other times dark and macabre –  while exploring a wide array of stylistic and technological approaches. With a special interest in nonsense literature, health, cognition and the underlying influences of rock ‘n roll, Saiq’a loves combining her roots and  learnings from other parts of the world to create a personalised fusion of aesthetics,  animations, publications and objects. She is a co-founder and animator at Ogopogo Studios – the first stop motion animation studio in Bangladesh.

Saiq’a hopes to build an artistic practice based on extensive research through creative experimentation. As part of her personal practice, Saiq’a explores antiquated film technologies and has built kinegrams, phenakistoscopes, dynamic praxinoscopes and experimented with stereoscopy and hones a special interest in exploring  various storytelling media. Her latest endevour include the launching of her brand “Ghorar Dim” which is a Bengali metaphor for all that is nonsensically inclined,  literally translating to “Horse Eggs” in English. The brand explores the creation of curious objects and apparell using images, illusions and the phenomenon of persistence of vision.
