Shomoyita : The Bangla Word Clock
A minute-by-minute typographic display of time at the intersection of Bangla typography, linguistics, and time perception
The Bangla Wordclock displays the current time written out in Bengali script — not digits but words, cycling through the full range of temporal expression that the Bangla language offers for describing time of day.
The challenge was to give twenty four hours of the day their uniquely worded descriptions on the clock in crisp, legible Bangla typeface that changes every minute. A contemporary Bangla Clock — this product is scheduled for release in December 2026 from Ghorar Dim Studios.
